Ahhh peace!-I hope I'm back

I know I always say I am going to blog more then it never happens. Well, now I am staying home with Hollis so I have more "time," and so many things are going on with the babe that I want to write it all down. So cheers to more blog writing.
So check out the new shoes! Haven't gotten much use but last night after dinner I decided to strap them on and go out for a walk. Awesome night for a walk listening to a 60 minute podcast.

Check out the view in our backyard. It's the best place to clear your head and put things in perspective!

Check out these rock statues

Well be back soon!

Colored Jeans

Thank goodness for blogs and Pinterest to let me know that colored jeans are cool this year. I am totally living in an "out of fashion" bubble and am dying to get to the stores this summer and shop non preggo.

So I was on the hunt. I decided I wanted pale pink and mint green. After searching online I had no idea what size to order so headed downtown one weekend to have a look. Pastel jeans were everywhere! But so was every single person living in Zurich with a 30 minute wait for the dressing room. So I came home empty handed.

Hollis and I headed downtown last week and I was determined to find a pair. Well I guess that Saturday every pair of jeans were pretty much bought at H&M and Zara (the only two stores that are remotely ok to shop at in Zurich ). So Hollis and I went to the 4 H&M's they have down town and finally at the 4th store had success.

I brought home 3 pairs all from different H&M's. Very light pink, mint, and hot pinkish redish.

Hollis and Zann looked on at my style show.

I ended up just keeping the mint and pink. They are two different styles but I really like the fit of both and for 30 bucks you can't go worng.

Here are the mint in Dubrovnik this weekend.

Now the search for pale pink.

Super Bowl

Because of the time change we didn't get to watch the Super Bowl Sunday night. We still made chili in celebration.
We did turn it on and watch the rerun even though we knew who won. My favorite part of the game was seeing Eli's daughter in her little smocked dress with a bow in her hair.

And of course this little girl singing the National Anthem.

Of course we were happy that Eli won because he does look like Zann :)

First Swim

We took Hollis for her second swim this weekend. Her first was in Arizona in the hot tub over Christmas.
Hollis was kind of unfazed by the whole thing. She pretty much just kept the same look on her face for the whole hour we were in the pool. She was happy sitting between our legs with her feet in or sitting in the baby pool on our laps. We wasn't much of a fan floating on her back like she is in the bath tub. At the end we took her into the big pool when most of the kids had left and she was happy to just be floating around. We are off to Atlanta this weekend and our hotel has a pool so maybe there will be more swimming.

Chicken Gyros

Pintrest has been making me hungry basically 24/7. We have been trying many new recipes for dinner while I still have time on maternity leave.

This week it was Chicken Gyros  .

I did not make my own pita bread but they were still delicious! They would taste great on whole wheat nan bread. Too bad that doesn't exist in Switzerland.

Weekend in Paris

What a lucky little girl Hollis was to get to go to Paris for her 3 month birthday.
Paris had been on our list of places we must visit so we decided at the last minute to use our Marriott points and take a weekend trip.

Hollis was a little angel again on the flight.

Friday night after checking into the hotel we quickly changed and went to dinner at La Cave Lanrezac .
We had a wonderful dinner with steak, French wine, and chocolate cake for dessert. We called it a night after dinner and went back to the hotel to tuck the little peanut into bed.

How funny is the crib they made up for her?

MH all ready to hit the streets of Paris.

We started out the day with a walking tour that Zann found on Trip Advisor. It was a great tour past some of the not as well known sights and through many beautiful neighborhoods.

First stop was the Moulin Rouge.

Then the home that Van Gogh lived in while in Paris.

Hollis looked like such a big girl riding around in her new travel stroller.

The tour ended at the Sacre Coeur.
Not all attractions in Paris are stroller friends.

Zann enjoying lunch French style with a glass of wine and Hollis pouting because she didn't get any.

After lunch we walked down the Champs Elysees and Hollis had her first look into the Louis Vuitton store.

After a nap at the hotel we went for dinner at Cafe Constant  which Liz D recommended. The food was fantastic and the apple torte was even better!

Cutie Pie all ready for her last day in Paris.

Sunday we did a lot of walking. We started going to see the Arc de Triomphe up close then took the train over to the Notre Dame area.

From Notre Dame we walked to the Eiffel Tower. Hollis wore herself out while we were trying to eat lunch so she slept through her first look at the Eiffel Tower.

Then it was back off to Switzerland.

Mary Hollis is 3 months!

Wow! We have a 3 month old baby already! Hollis brings us more joy than we could ever imagine!

I never got around to updating at 2 months because we were traveling. At two months old Hollis was 11 pounds 4 oz. and 22.5 inches long. Right before she turned two months she started rolling over from her tummy to her back. She was not liking tummy time very much and learned how to flip herself. She was still a very good sleeper, sleeping about 11 hours straight at night and taking 3 naps during the day.

Here we are at 3 months old. Hollis did not have a doctor appointment this month so I took her to the free service that Zurich offers where you can get your baby weighed, measured, and talk to a mid wife every week.

3 Month Stats:
Weight: 5.5 Kilos/ 12 pounds 2 oz. (gained 14 oz)
Length: 60 cm/ 23.6 inches (grew just over an inch)
Wearing a size 2 diaper
Wearing 3 month, 3-6 month, 0-6 month clothes and 3 month Cater's onsies

So according to the books the new born stage is over and now she is a baby. I miss my tiny little baby but we are having so much fun watching Hollis grow. She is a mover these days. She kicks like crazy when she is on her back and is now pushing her feet off the ground, doing a little back bend and scooting. We have to watch her very carefully on her changing pad now.
She loves looking at and touching the sign the Aunt Susie gave her.

She still loves looking at and talking to her friends on her mobile. She loves hearing the musics and yells for me to turn it on when it is over.

Hollis is just the happiest baby and we have the best time playing together everyday. She loves to be under her activity gym and now can reach up and grab the toys.

And this baby girl loves her Daddy! She looks all around for him when she hears him come in the door.

And she loves slow dancing with him to songs on Pandora at night.

She is much better at tummy time now and love the new mirror Santa brought her. She just can't get enough of looking at herself.
Hollis is still pretty laid back but loves to be in the action. She is happy if she is sitting up to see everything going on around her.

The birthday girl got spoiled and got to come in bed with me when she woke up to eat at 7.

Then we tried to take her 3 month pictures. It is getting harder now that she wants to be on the go. Most of the pictures are blurry because she was kicking so much.

So we decided to try sitting in the chair. She started out like this and with in 3 quick pictures she was like this.

At 3 months old Hollis is a jet-setter. She has been on 9 airplanes and to visit 4 different countries. And next week we are off to Atlanta to visit cousin Jay so she will be up in the air again :)
