Susie, Jeff, and I took the train to Mt. Rigi on Wednesday (poor Zann had to work). I had such a blast at Mt. Rigi with Emily, I just had to have Susie and Jeff experience it. It was a nice day when we arrived, not super sunny but you could see the surrounding mountains. The first run was a warm up to get use to being on the side of a cliff and braking with your feet...would totally cause many lawsuits in the US, but people here like to live on the edge. We enjoyed part of out packed lunch on the cogwheel back up and noticed it started to get a little foggy and we got to the top and this is what we saw...
NOTHING! Jeff is standing in the same spot Susie and I took the picture 30 minutes before. The visibility was about 10 feet, but that wasn't going to stop us.
We were sledging between one orange pole to the next. Deffinately was a different kind of excitement!
How to kill time while waiting for the cogwheel, pulling each other up the small hills and racing down.
After 3 runs (each is about 20 minutes long) we were exhausted but had to return out sleds at the top of the hill. It was going to be a 40 minute wait at the top for the train so I had the bright idea that we should walk to the bottom and meet the train there. We did this with Mandy and Nathan and it worked out. Well when it is a complete blizzard and you can't tell what is up and what is down it was a little harder to find the way. Susie and Jeff though it was easier to roll than to slide down the mountain. So it took a little longer than I had expected and we ended up having to sprint UP a snow covered BIG hill...good times. Susie and Jeff were totally thrilled with me!
